Unlocking Potential, Inspiring Dreams, Transforming Lives.

In Tanzania's villages and urban centers, children face challenges that threaten to limit their futures before they've even begun. Yet within each child lies extraordinary potential waiting to be unleashed.

At the I Want to Be Foundation, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to answer the question "What do you want to be?" with hope, confidence, and a clear path forward. Through our integrated approach addressing education, health, safety, leadership, community support, and advocacy, we're creating environments where Tanzania's most vulnerable children can heal, learn, grow, and thrive.

The Impact of Your Support

With a committed investment of $4.55 million over three years, we will reach over 90,000 children across Tanzania, creating transformative change at both individual and systemic levels: I Want to Be Foundation

  • 20 schools renovated with solar lighting and learning resources
  • 15,000 children receiving comprehensive healthcare
  • 1,000 youth trained as community leaders
  • 50 villages implementing child protection systems
  • 500 youth advocates influencing policy change

Meet Neema

Neema, 12, herds cattle at dawn in her Maasai village before walking 7km to a school with no lights and few resources. Her family cannot afford books, and cultural pressures threaten to end her education early.

With the I Want to Be Foundation’s integrated support, Neema could attend a renovated school with solar lighting, participate in after-school coding workshops, receive regular health check-ups, and develop leadership skills that will help her advocate for herself and her community.

“I currently count goats,” she says. “But I dream of counting lines of code.”

Neema’s story represents thousands of children across Tanzania—their challenges, their resilience, and their unlimited potential when given the right opportunities. I Want to Be Foundation

The question isn't whether these children can achieve extraordinary things. The question is whether we will give them the chance to show us."
